Minister expresses condolences on tragic loss of German aviators

Walter Noel, Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs, has expressed condolences to the families and colleagues of the two members of the German Air Force killed when their Tornado fighter jet crashed yesterday while training in Labrador.

"This crash is a very tragic event," said Minister Noel. "I know I speak for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador in conveying our sympathy to the families and colleagues of the pilot and navigator. The military personnel in Happy Valley - Goose Bay are welcome and respected members of the Labrador community. The province has formed a strong bond with the Allies training here. The loss of these men will be strongly felt throughout the province and particularly in Happy Valley - Goose Bay and Germany."
