Reclassification review nearing completion

Treasury Board President Anna Thistle advises that the occupational review for the nursing occupation, licenced practical nurse classification, and the social worker classification is nearing completion and the results will be released before August 31.

"The review of these classifications was a major undertaking," said Minister Thistle. "The review meant extensive consultations had to occur to ensure current classifications properly reflect the complexity of the work employees perform. This process took slightly longer than anticipated which resulted in a minor delay."

However, Minister Thistle stated that any changes which result from the reclassification review are retroactive. "The change in the release date will not affect retroactivity," said the minister.
