Ministers to discuss employment insurance issues

Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Walter Noel announced today that he will be leading a delegation to Ottawa to meet with Jane Stewart, Minister of Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC), on Friday, March 17 to discuss employment insurance (EI) issues.

Minister Noel indicated that he is looking forward to the meeting with Minister Stewart to discuss EI issues of particular concern for residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. "I am quite confident," said Minister Noel, "that Minister Stewart will be sensitive to the concerns related to the employment insurance program in this province."

Minister Noel noted that this meeting is part of the ongoing efforts by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to bring about improvements to the national Employment Insurance Program.
