Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act. In the case of documents received or approved, copies may be obtained by contacting the regional office of the Department of Environment and Labour or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6181. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown for each item.

GUIDELINES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT ISSUED

As a result of the minister's decision on August 18, 2000 to require an environmental preview report (EPR) for the above undertaking, in accordance with Section 10 of the Environmental Assessment Act the minister has issued final guidelines to the proponent. The guidelines are intended to provide instructions to the proponent in the preparation of the EPR.

UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED FROM ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:

The minister has released the following projects from environmental assessment as per requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act:

Gambo Pond Cottage Access Road
Proponent: William J. Slaney

Kitty's Brook Forest Management District 16 Amendment
Proponent: Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods

Abitibi Forest Management District 14 Amendment (Little Barachois Brook)
Proponent: Abitibi-Consolidated Inc.
