Langdon has announced the following events relative NEW UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:
The proponent proposes an amendment to the five year operating plan for Forest Management District 17 which is located on the southern half of the Great Northern Peninsula. The proposed amendment is for three areas near East Castor Pond, Brig Bay Block and Squid Cove. The plan amendment proposes the harvesting of approximately 27,442 cubic metres of timber over a 283.6 hectare area and the construction of five kilometres of forestry access roads. The undertaking was registered on June 19, 2000; public comments are due on July 22, 2000; and the minister's decision is due on August 3, 2000.
The proponent proposes an amendment to the five year operating plan for Forest Management District 18 which is located on the northern half of the Great Northern Peninsula. The proposed amendment is for three areas one of which is near Roddickton in an area know locally as Cutaway Pond, and near Main Brook in two areas know locally as Catch A Feeder and Wilberts Road. The plan amendment proposes the harvesting of approximately 36,315 cubic metres of timber over a 491.53 hectare area and the construction of 3.2 kilometres of forestry access roads. The undertaking was registered on June 19, 2000; public comments are due on July 22, 2000; and the minister's decision is due on August 3, 2000.
