Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon has announced the following events relative
to the Environmental Assessment Act. In the case of documents received or approved, copies
may be obtained by contacting the regional office of the Department of Environment and Labour
or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6181. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the
public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown
for each item.

NEW UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Charlottetown Water System Upgrade (Pipeline and Dam)
Proponent: Town Council of Charlottetown

The proponent plans to upgrade the existing surface water supply for the Town of Charlottetown, Labrador. The proposed upgrade will include construction of an earth dam with a concrete spillway on Middle Pond at the outlet of John Martin's Brook and 770 metres of water transmission main. The dam will increase the combined surface area of Middle Pond and Garden Pond by approximately two hectares. The undertaking was registered on May 31, 2000; public comments are due on July 2, 2000; and the minister's decision is due on July 15, 2000.

Colliers 18 Hole Golf Course
Proponent: Francis W. Cole

The proponent plans to construct an 18 hole golf course in Colliers, Conception Bay. The proposed course will cover approximately 80 hectares in area and will include an irrigation system, driving range, registration office, proshop and storage warehouses. The undertaking was registered on June 1, 2000; public comments are due on July 2, 2000; and the minister's decision is due on July 16, 2000.

UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED FROM ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:

The minister has released the following project from environmental assessment as per requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act:

Englee Crab (Fish) Processing Plant
Proponent: Englee Seafoods Limited
