NLIS 4 May 16, 2000 (Environment and Labour) Environmental Assessment Bulletin Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act. In the case of documents received or approved, copies may be obtained by contacting the regional office of the Department of Environment and Labour or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6181. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown for each item. ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT (EPR) SATISFACTORY: Granite Canal Hydroelectric Development
(Resubmission) The EPR has been reviewed and an opportunity to comment has been given to the public as required by the Environmental Assessment Act RSN 1990, c. E-14. Upon consideration of the concerns and comments received, the Minister of Environment and Labour has decided the EPR is satisfactory and an environmental impact statement is not required. The proponent may proceed with the project subject to any other Act or regulation, and subject to meeting all commitments relative to mitigation, rehabilitation, and effects and compliance monitoring programs. UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED FROM ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT: The minister has released the following project from environmental assessment as per requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act: Abitibi Forestry Management District 10
