Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act. In the case of documents received or approved, copies may be obtained by contacting the regional office of the Department of Environment and Labour or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6181. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown for each item.

EXTENSION ON MINISTER'S DECISION DATE FOR REGISTRATION:

Forest Mgmt. Dist. 16 Amendment (Sheffield Lake, Main River)
Proponent: Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited

The minister's decision on the above project has been extended from January 28, 2000 until February 4, 2000 for review of the proposed project.

UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED FROM ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:

The minister has released the following projects from environmental assessment as per requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act:

Corner Brook Auto Salvage & Recycling Facility
Proponent: Mr. Ron Jesso

Point Leamington to Leading Tickles Pedestrian/Hiking Trail
Proponent: Exploits Valley Economic Development Corp.

Roddickton Sawmill Expansion
Proponent: Northchip Limited
