Student Aid hours extended

The Department of Education announced today that the hours for its Student Aid Division will be extended to serve the needs of students applying for student loans.

Beginning Tuesday, September 5, the new hours at the Student Aid Division will be 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All services will be available during this time period. Students can be served in person at the Student Aid Division offices, Coughlan College, Memorial University or by telephone at (709) 729-5849.

Education Minister Judy Foote said she is pleased to be able to extend services to meet the needs of students, particularly during this, the peak period for student aid. The minister expects that these measures will not only make the services of the Student Aid Division more accessible to students, but will also help to improve processing time.

The minister also commended the staff at the Student Aid Division for their commitment to providing efficient and professional service to students throughout the year and thanked them for their flexibility and cooperation during this peak time.

Regular hours for the Student Aid Division, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will resume October 2.
