Consultation forums on economy continue January 6 and 11

Public consultations on an economic renewal strategy for Newfoundland and Labrador will continue January 6 and 11 in St. John�s, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn.

These are the final public meetings scheduled for the St. John�s area and were added by the Cabinet Committee on Jobs and Growth to the original schedule in order to accommodate the number of individuals and groups who want to make presentations to the committee.

The presenters scheduled for the January 6 forum are:

  •  Penelope Rowe, Community Services Council, St. John�s

  • Bill Parsons, Newfoundland and Labrador Building and Construction Trades Council

  •  Vince Withers, Ireland Business Partnerships

  • Michael Kidney, Mount Pearl

  •  Lori Heath, St. John�s

  •  Cathy Griffiths, Atlantic Charter Foundation, Ship Harbour

  •  Myles Whitaker, Newfoundland and Labrador Livestock Council, Mount Pearl

  •  Marilyn Tucker, Newfoundland and Labrador Employers Council

  •  Derek Bishop, Newfoundland Gays and Lesbians for Equality

  •  Charlie Power, MP St. John�s West

  •  Graham Moores, Carbonear

          The presenters scheduled for the January 11 forum are:

  •  Pat Curran, Irish Loop Regional Economic Development Board

  •  Patricia O�Neill, Newfoundland Science Centre, St. John�s

  •  Catherine Barrett, Waterford Foundation, St. John�s

  •  Max Porter, Certified General Accountants Association of Newfoundland and Labrador

  •  Anne Marie Vaughan, School of Continuing Education, Memorial University

  •  Jen Anthony, Council of Students Union, Memorial University
