Consulting company appointed for Dr. G.B. Cross Hospital renovations

Rick Woodford, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Doug Oldford, MHA - Trinity North, today announced that SGE Group Inc. have been appointed to provide planning and design work for the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville. The Clarenville office of SGE Group will bring local input and experience to the project.

"Government is providing $1 million to redevelop the ambulatory care space in the hospital," said Mr. Oldford. "This will alleviate pressures in the emergency and outpatient departments."

Mr. Oldford said the money will also be used to renovate space for the CT Scanner planned for the 2000/2001 fiscal year. "We're taking a phased-in approach to this project. We plan to spend $300,000 in 1999/2000 and the remaining $700,000 in 2000/2001."
