Accessibility improvements for Menihek High School

Ernie McLean, Minister Responsible for Labrador, today announced that the Department of Works, Services and Transportation has awarded $202,400 for various accessibility improvements at Menihek High School in Labrador City. The improvements include installation of three automated stair lifts; installation of washroom facilities; and, improved exterior accessibility.

Mr. McLean said: "I am pleased that the provincial government was able to provide this funding which will ensure adequate access for challenging needs students at Menihek High."

Work will start immediately and be completed by December 31, 1999.
