Contracts awarded for Goulds-By-Pass Road

Rick Woodford, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, today announced the awarding of two contracts for construction on the Goulds-By-Pass road.

Modern Paving Ltd. of Goulds has been awarded a $297,584.93 contract for the construction of a reinforced concrete structure on Goulds-By-Pass over Lesters Field Service Road.

Trident Construction Ltd. of St. John's has been awarded a $274,045 contract for the construction of a reinforced concrete rigid frame structure over Raymond's Brook on Goulds-By-Pass.

"These contracts represent the next step in a major construction project which has been on-going since last fall and will continue throughout next year. Each phase of this project brings us a step closer to completing another important addition to the highway system of Newfoundland and Labrador," said Minister Woodford.

Mr. Woodford said that work will commence immediately on both projects and is expected to be completed by October 31, 1999.
