Contract for overpass on TCH at Deer Lake

Rick Woodford, Minister of Works Services and Transportation and MHA - Humber Valley, today announced that a $1,482,235 contract has been awarded to Western Construction Co. Ltd. of Stephenville Crossing.

Work will include the replacement of an existing concrete overpass on the Trans Canada Highway at Deer Lake. The project will also include the construction of a new interchange for Deer Lake. Mr. Woodford said: "Access from the Trans Canada Highway is very important to the towns that are located along its route. The construction of the new overpass and interchange will provide smoother access to the western portion of the town of Deer Lake for travellers on the TCH."

Mr. Woodford said that work will commence immediately and be completed by October 30, 1999.
