The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Top 50 ladies basketball camp

Tami Pennell, head coach for the Ladies Canada Games Basketball Program, will be conducting an open try-out basketball camp to identify potential athletes who will represent the province in 2001.

This camp will be used to select athletes to compete in the St. John's Ladies Basketball League and will also offer skill development for athletes interested in competing at the Canada Games in 2001.

Regular development camps will be conducted for athletes selected over the course of the season, prior to the final selection during the spring provincial try-out camps.

The camp is open to all athletes born in 1982 or later and will be held at Memorial University on October 2 from 2 - 5 p.m. and at the Provincial Training Center on October 3 from 9 a.m - 12 noon. A $10 registration fee will be charged to all participants on site.

Please make cheques payable to the Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association.
