The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Basketball Hall of Fame The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be holding its Hall of Fame Banquet at the Battery Hotel, in St. John's, April 10. At this time 15 individuals will be inducted under three categories. Entering under the Builder Category are Gordon Breen, William Redden, Edward Murphy, Douglas Eaton, Albert Haynes, Chris Griffen, John Seay, and Gail Roberts. Individuals under the Athlete Category are Raymond Hawco, Jack Walsh, Edward Manning, Linda Barrett and Christian Whalen. Bill Connolly and Frank King will be inducted under the Officials Category. The ceremonies will be held in conjunction with the 1999 Molson Provincial Masters Championships which will be held at several venues in the St. John's and surrounding areas. A total of 14 teams are registered for the event in both the competitive and recreational divisions. Individuals wishing to attend the ceremonies may purchase tickets from the provincial office at a cost of $20 each. The deadline to purchase tickets is set for April 1.
