Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador's AA/AAA short course swimming championships

Close to 300 swimmers from all over the province meet in Gander this weekend for the Swimming Newfoundland and Labrador's AA/AAA short course swimming championships.

Hosted by the Gander Lakers swim club, the meet will see the provinces' top age group swimmers in action as they swim for record breaking performances and the AA and AAA team championship banners.

In addition to the Gander Lakers teams at this week's competition are the Northern Lights of Wabush/Labrador City, the Melville Mantas of Happy Valley/Goose Bay, the Aqua Aces of Stephenville, the Western Whales of Corner Brook, the Exploits "Y" Otters of Grand Falls-Windsor, the Poseidon Swim Club of Carbonear, the CBS Bluefins, the Mount Pearl Marlins and the St. John's Legends. The speedo age group swimmers of the year awards will also be announced this weekend.
