The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Provincial Midget and Midget + 1 Boys Volleyball Tryout The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association will be holding the eastern tryout for the provincial midget (born in 1983 or later) and midget + 1 (born in 1982) boys team program at Bishop's College on the weekend of January 15-16. The first session will take place from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 15. The number of participants will determine the schedule for Saturday. Athletes who are selected for the final teams will be playing in the Eastern Canadian Elite Championship in Quebec in late July. It is extremely important for athletes to get involved with these programs since this midget and midget + 1 program is the next age group for the 2001 Canada Summer Games. Athletes will gain the necessary skills and experience in these programs that they will require to hopefully attain a spot on the Canada Games roster for 2001. A registration fee of $20 will be charged for the camp and may be paid upon arrival.
