NOTE TO EDITORS:

Members of the media are invited to attend the announcing of the winners of the 1999 Arts and Letters Awards, on Thursday, May 20. The event, by invitation only, will be held at the Arts and Culture Centre at 8:30 p.m. in the Upper Concourse, where approximately 55 awards will be presented. Walter Noel, Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs, will represent government and take part in the presentation of awards. The Lieutenant Governor, the Honourable A.M. House, who is the honourary patron of the Arts, will also be on hand for the event.

The winners of the 1999 Arts and Letters competition, along with other selected entries, will be on exhibit at the Provincial Art Gallery, Arts and Culture Centre, from Friday, May 21 to Sunday, June 6.
