NOTE TO EDITORS:

Lloyd Matthews, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, will hold a news conference today, January 14, at 10 a.m. to announce several initiatives to assist municipalities throughout the province. He will be joined by Paul Dicks, Minister of Finance; Sam Synard, President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Municipalities; Diane Whelan, Mayor of Paradise; and David Luther, Mayor of Corner Brook. The news conference will be held in the Media Centre, Main Floor, East Block, Confederation Building.
