Market Highlights:
With the exception of Port aux Basques and Gander, retail gasoline
prices remained unchanged over the survey period. Gander reported a 3.0 cpl increase which
follows on the increases previously reported for other provincial markets in mid-July.
Port aux Basques reported a 1.0 cpl decrease. For the communities surveyed, Conception Bay
South continues to have the least expensive price of 63.9 cpl.
From August 10, 1999, to August 24, 1999, refinery wholesale prices, as
measured by the Montreal refinery rack price, remained unchanged at an average of 27.1
cpl.
Crude oil prices marginally increased from $21.30 US per barrel to
$21.47 US per barrel over the survey period.
