Market Highlights:

  • With the exception of St. Anthony and Labrador City, retail gasoline prices remained unchanged over the survey period. Throughout Eastern Canada, Halifax witnessed a 7.0 cpl increase.

  • From July 27, 1999, to August 10, 1999, refinery wholesale prices, as measured by the Montreal refinery rack price, had increased by 2.2 cpl.

  • Crude oil prices continued to increase from $20.38 US per barrel to $21.30 US per barrel over the survey period.
