Sawbill and Milner Lake Zones open

Kevin Aylward, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, has announced Sawbill and Milner Lake Caribou Zones are open effective immediately.

Minister Aylward said: "Cold temperatures in the area have made ice conditions acceptable for travel. We have had numerous confirmed reports of caribou in the area, and these are corroborated by the locations of satellite-collared animals."

Wildlife officials will continue to monitor movements of the caribou. Additional zones are being monitored and will be opened or closed depending on the presence of the George River caribou herd.
