Black bear hunt extended

Kevin Aylward, Minister of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, announced today that the fall 1999 black bear hunting season in Black Bear Management Areas 2, 5 and 6 has been extended by one week.

This hunting season will now close on September 18 instead of the September 11 closing which was announced in the 1999-2000 Hunting Guide. The additional week will accommodate hunters who hold valid licences for these areas and had not received their licences in the mail before the opening of the season.
