NOTE TO EDITORS:

Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister John Efford will hold a news conference at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, to release new and alarming video footage of the effects of harp seal predation on cod stocks. The footage, which was shot in Bonavista Bay, is a reflection of similar instances which have occurred over the last several years and are still occurring in other bays and harbours along the province's coastline.

The media are invited to attend the news conference to be held at 10 a.m. in the large boardroom of the Fisheries Building, 30 Strawberry Marsh Road, St. John's.
