House of Assembly to resume public business

Government House Leader Beaton Tulk announced today that the House of Assembly will resume public business at 2 p.m. on November 16.

"This timing is consistent with the past practice of calling the legislature together in the fall," said Mr. Tulk. "We anticipate a busy legislative agenda, and will sit for as many days as necessary to deal with the important business of the House."

Mr. Tulk said the government intends to bring forward a number of pieces of legislation during the fall session, including the Mining Act as well as water resources legislation.

The Mining Act will provide clear guidelines for companies in the planning process of mining ventures.
