Funding for The Straits and White Bay North Premier Brian Tobin is pleased to announce that Roddickton and St. Anthony have both been approved for Capital Works Funding in the amount of $190,000. The town of Roddickton will be provided with $150,000 for improvements to their recreation centre. The community plans to install an artificial ice surface in the White Bay Central Regional Recreation Centre to replace its natural ice surface. The project will be financed on a 20 per cent municipal/ 80 per cent provincial basis. Forty thousand dollars will be provided to the town of St. Anthony for paving and upgrading of Ollerhead Drive. The project will be financed on a 50 per cent municipal/ 50 per cent provincial basis. "These projects will bring significant improvements to the local infrastructure, and, at the same time, stimulate and accelerate local economic activity," said Premier Tobin.
