(Executive Council)
Perry Canning to head
Investment Prospecting Team
Premier Brian Tobin announced
today the appointment of Perry Canning as Executive Director, Investment
Prospecting, Corporate Development Group, in the Department of Industry,
Trade and Technology.
The mandate of the Corporate
Development Group is to identify sectors that may present new business
opportunities for Newfoundland and Labrador. The Corporate Development Group
will determine specific opportunities and then identify companies that may
be pursued to locate in the province.
This tactical approach to
business and investment prospecting will draw upon the expertise and advice
of both local and national business leaders in identifying new
opportunities, tracking emerging trends, and assessing the tools this
province needs to attract them.
