Funeral for Quebec avalanche victims moving experience

Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Walter Noel says the funeral for avalanche victims in Kangiqsualujjuaq yesterday was a very sad and moving experience.

The Minister and Torngat Mountains MHA Wally Anderson represented the province in the remote Quebec community Wednesday. They travelled to the Ungava Bay community to personally express the condolences of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to the families of the victims and various community and government officials.

"We are neighbours and friends with the people of those communities just across the boundary between Labrador and Quebec," Noel said.  "Indeed, Mr. Anderson is personally acquainted with many former residents of Labrador presently living in Kangiqsualujjuaq (formerly known as George River)."
