Grant for Englee from Waste Management Trust Fund

Oliver Langdon, Minister of Environment and Labour, and Premier Brian Tobin, MHA - The Straits and White Bay North, are pleased to announce a grant of $10,000 under the Newfoundland and Labrador Waste Management Trust Fund to the Town of Englee for a project aimed at cleaning-up garbage and litter in and around Bateau Cove Brook.

Bateau Cove Brook is a small brook which runs through part of the community. The town council hopes that by cleaning up the brook residents and visitors will take more pride in the area and do their part to keep Bateau Brook and the town clean and beautiful.

"This is a very worthwhile project which will contribute to the environmental health and cleanliness of the area," said Premier Tobin. "Projects such as these are excellent examples of communities working to improve and preserve the environment for the future."

The Newfoundland and Labrador Waste Management Trust Fund is administered by the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board and provides partial funding for waste management and environmental initiatives.
