Paper company and logger's union accept minister=s offer for exploratory talks

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Ltd and the Communications, Energy, and Paper Workers Union, Local 60N, have accepted an invitation from Environment and Labour Minister Oliver Langdon to participate in a round of 48-hour exploratory talks.

On Wednesday, July 14,  Minister Langdon met with representatives of the union and company to explore opportunities to bring the parties back to the bargaining table. AI have since extended an invitation to both parties to resume discussions in hopes that it might lead to full negotiations,@ stated the minister. AI am delighted and encouraged that both have accepted this offer.@

The parties have agreed as well to a media blackout during the talks.
