May 17 - 23, 1999 is North American Safety and Health Week (NAOSH Week). The theme for this year is Occupational Safety and Health: It's Everybody's Business.

The Provincial Steering Committee for North American Occupational Safety and Health Week invites media representatives to attend a luncheon and awards presentation in honour of North American Occupational Safety and Health Week 1999. A news conference will start at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 12 at the Fluvarium, Pippy Park, St. John's. Oliver Langdon, Minister of Environment and Labour, will present Occupational Health and Safety Leadership Recognition Awards to individuals and companies in recognition of their initiatives in the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses.
