Information for electors on polling day

In order to vote in the provincial general election on February 9, electors must meet the following qualifications:

1. Be 18 years of age or more on polling day;

2. a Canadian citizen and;

3. ordinarily resident in the province on February 8, 1999.

(Section 23, Elections Act, 1991).

The official list of electors for all electoral districts, which was prepared in 1994 (with boundary amendments made in 1995 and printed in 1996), will be used for the provincial general election on February 9, 1999 (subsection 55(2), Elections Act, 1991). A qualified elector whose name does not appear on the voters list is required to produce identification and take an oath in the prescribed form in order to vote on polling day.
