Public consultations on economic renewal strategy continue tonight

Public consultations on an economic renewal strategy for Newfoundland and Labrador will continue in St. John's tonight, beginning 7 p.m. at Holiday Inn.

Ten presentations are scheduled to be heard by the Cabinet Committee on Jobs and Growth. They are: Tim Froude, Newfoundland and Labrador Chamber of Mineral Resources; Dr. Jack Botsford, president and CEO, Operation Online; Calvin Manning, executive director, Avalon Gateway Regional Economic Development Inc.; John Conners, director of marketing and business development, Marine Institute; Phyllis Reardon/Dr. Myrle Vokey, on regional economic development and schools; J. L. Barron; Capt. Mark Turner, Newfoundland Ocean Industries Association; Pam Hall, president, Association of Cultural Industries of Newfoundland and Labrador; Mona Wall, and Susan Blagdon, Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs; and Ken Pittman, chair, advisory committee to the Newfoundland and Labrador Film Development Corporation.

The next scheduled forums are December 8 in Mount Pearl and December 9 in St. John's.
