Jobs and Growth consultation continues with three meetings next week The Jobs and Growth consultations will continue with meetings in St. Anthony on Monday, November 1, Port aux Basques on Tuesday, November 2, and in Whitbourne on November 4. Development and Rural Renewal Minister Beaton Tulk chairs the special committee of Cabinet that has been formed to lead the consultation process. The process gives people the opportunity to provide their views and advice on a renewal strategy for jobs and growth. Public consultation forums have already taken place in Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, Harbour Breton, Marystown and Corner Brook. More than 600 people have attended the forums to date, and about 75 presentations have been made. Other sessons will be held in St. John's, Clarenville, New-Wes-Valley (Newtown-Wesleyville-Valleyfield), Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Labrador City-Wabush. Interested groups and individuals may attend these public meetings and/or forward written submissions to Minister Tulk, c/o Ministerial Committee on Jobs and Growth, 2nd Floor, Confederation Building, West Block, P.O. Box 8700, St. John's, NF, A1B 4J6. Submissions may also be faxed to (709) 729-0614 or e-mail: econsult@mail.gov.nf.ca. Deadline for written submissions is December 15, 1999. Anyone planning on making a presentation to the committee at a public meeting is invited to pre-register by calling toll-free 1-877-729-6440 or, in the St. John's area, 729-6440.
