(Development and Rural Renewal)


NOTE TO EDITORS:

Beaton Tulk, Minister of Development and Rural Renewal, has scheduled a news conference for 10 a.m., May 28 at the St. John's Curling Club (second floor), 135 Mayor Ave.

Minister Tulk will release a new provincial strategy for the development of small-scale manufacturing in Newfoundland and Labrador. Lorne Janes, Chair of the Alliance of Manufacturers and Exporters Newfoundland (AMEN), will also participate.

At 11 a.m., Mr. Tulk will participate in the opening ceremony for Manufactured Right Here '99 - an exhibition organized by AMEN, in partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the Department of Industry, Trade and Technology, and Industry Canada.  This ceremony will also be held at the Curling Club, main floor.
