(Development and Rural Renewal)

The Cabinet Committee on Rural Revitalization will meet in Happy Valley-Goose Bay today with members of the Central Labrador Economic Development Corporation, the economic development board for that area.

This is one in a series of meetings the committee is holding with each of the province's 20 regional economic development boards.

The meeting begins at 3 p.m. at the North Star Building. A photo opportunity/interview time will be available just before the meeting starts, or between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Lions Club where the corporation is hosting a "Meet and Greet."

Beaton Tulk, chair of the cabinet committee and Minister of Development and Rural Renewal, says the committee is meeting with each board to learn first-hand about the progress made by the boards to date, and to discuss options to advance the boards' strategic economic plans more aggressively.
