Clearing contract awarded

Kevin Aylward, MHA - Stephenville, and Lloyd Matthews, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, today announced that a contract for preliminary site preparation for the Sir Thomas Roddick Health Centre has been awarded to Western Construction Co. Ltd. of Stephenville Crossing.

Work will include clearing and grubbing for the 2.5 hectare site area for construction of the new health centre site on Minnesota Drive. Completion of this contract will assist in carrying out further geotechnical and topographical surveys early in the new year.

Mr. Aylward said: "I look forward to the completion of this project. This is a positive first step towards completion of a new health centre that will significantly benefit residents of the Bay St. George area."
