Schools on Northern Peninsula to undergo roof repair/replacement

Works, Services and Transportation Minister Lloyd Matthews and Chris Decker, MHA - The Straits and White Bay North, today announced that Contemporary Architecture and Design have been appointed to repair and replace roofs of schools in District 2, Northern Peninsula and Southern Labrador.

Roof repairs will be carried out on five schools in the district including St. Anthony Elementary, and Harriot Curtis school, also in St. Anthony. As well, roof repairs will be carried out on Eveleigh All Grade School in Roddickton, H.G. Fillier in Englee and A. Garrigus in St. Lunaire. The budget for these projects is approximately $58,000.

MHA Chris Decker says investing in infrastructure is an important component of the province's commitment to education. "Government acknowledges that we must have quality schools for our children in order to foster learning in a safe and healthy environment."
