The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

NLBA Invitational (Male under 21) Basketball Tournament

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association is hosting an open invitational male (under 21) hoop tournament in St. John's on May 22-24 at the Provincial Training Centre in Torbay. The object of the event is to provide high school and recently graduated students who did not compete in an organized league, the opportunity to compete in an event prior to the end of the season. Specific guidelines to meet eligibility requirements are outlined below. Minor rules will be utilized to ensure athletes receive equal time . Awards for the event will be provided by the NLBA and NABO officials will be used. Application forms are available at the NLBA office or by contacting your NLBA regional directors across the province. For additional information please contact one of the following individuals:

Eligibility Requirements

- Athletes must be born between 1977-1981.

- Athletes cannot be playing on a high school team, post secondary team or any registered NLBA senior league during this past season.

- Registration fee is $175 per team. Maximum of 15 players.

- Deadline to register is May 15.

- Athletes wishing to compete but who do not have a team may leave their names and numbers with one of the individuals listed above.
