The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Four St. John's athletes participate in
Canadian Junior Tennis Nationals

Meghan Butler and Jordie Kindervater are in Pointe Claire, Quebec, from April 4 - April 11, representing Newfoundland and Labrador on the Atlantic Team at the Via Rail Canadian Junior indoor(under 14) Tennis Championships.

Jordie Kindervater will be joined by Matthew Galgay and Katie Mallam in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, from April 12 - April 19, for the Under 16 Canadian Indoor Championships.

All players are from St. John's, and qualified to participate at the nationals in March at the 1998 Atlantic Junior Indoor Tennis Championships hosted by the Newfoundland and Labrador Tennis Association at the Greenbelt Tennis Club.

The Canadian Junior Indoor Tennis Championships feature top Canadian junior tennis players competing in team and individual formats. A tournament message board, and tournament results for the U 14 National Championships, are on the web at //www.clubmirabel.ca
