The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Molson Provincial Men's Division II and IV Basketball Championships The Molson Men's Division II and IV Provincial Basketball Championships are slated for this weekend, March 6-8. The Men's Division II is slated for Stephenville and six teams are entered in the event which will commence at 3:13 p.m. Friday and will conclude with the championship game slated for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Teams entered in the event include: Snickers and Pockets from St. John's, Gander, Hr. Grace, Corner Brook and the host Stephenville. The Molson Men's Division IV is slated for Clarenville and will commence at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Eight teams are entered in the tournament including: CEI Club, and Metro 25's of St. John's, Burin Peninsula Selects, St. Lawrence, Glovertown, Woodmans from Dildo, Trinity Bay and Clarenville "A" and "B" teams. The championship game is slated for 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Awards for both events will be provided by Molson Brewery, the official sponsor for all senior provincial championships.
