Portuguese White Fleet vessel returns to Newfoundland

The Creoula, once a member of the famed Portuguese White Fleet, will visit the province on August 28 as part of a youth cultural exchange between Canada and Portugal, and in conjunction with Expo '98 being held in Lisbon. A news briefing on Friday, July 10 at 10 a.m. in the Foran Room in St. John's City Hall will be held to outline the project as well as to introduce the organizers, sponsors and some of the crew, who were selected from the more than 100 youth applicants. The honorary patron for the Creoula project will also be announced at that time. The Creoula project is a project of the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador.
