The following is being distributed at the request of the 1999 Canada Games Host Society:

The 1999 Canada Winter Games Host Society is pleased to welcome Browning Harvey Limited as the newest member of its family of corporate partners.

Premier Brian Tobin announced on May 8, at the Canada Games Centre, that Browning Harvey Limited will be the "Official Supplier" for carbonated beverages and spring water. The premier recognized Browning Harvey Limited as a great asset to the games sponsorship fold. "Browning Harvey is one of Newfoundland and Labrador's most established and successful companies, and they bring a degree of experience and empathy to their corporate sponsorship role that's hard to match."

Susan Patten, chairperson of the board for Browning Harvey Limited, congratulated Premier Tobin, J. Wayne Trask, president of the 1999 Canada Winter Games Host Society, Mayor Luther and the City of Corner Brook and surrounding communities, for the initiative taken to host the 1999 Winter Games. Mrs. Patten said: "It is indeed our pleasure to be a proud sponsor of the 1999 Canada Winter Games. Browning Harvey Limited with their major franchises, Pepsi Cola Canada, Cadbury Beverages Canada, Evian Spring Water, and staff take great pleasure investing in these Canada Games."

J. Wayne Trask, president of the 1999 Canada Winter Games Host Society, echoed the premier's appreciative words in thanking Browning Harvey Limited, a subsidiary of the A. Harvey Group of companies, for supporting the 1999 Games. Mr. Trask thanked Mrs. Patten for considering the athletes and their needs during the 1999 Canada Winter Games. "Thanks to Browning Harvey Limited's great generosity, athletes are certain to have their thirst quenched with the generous supply of carbonated beverages and water." He added that he was doubly pleased to welcome Browning Harvey Limited to the corporate family of friends of the games as they are the only bottler of carbonated beverages in the province.

From February 20 - March 6, 1999, the nation will descend on the western region of Newfoundland when it hosts Canada's premier amateur sportsfest - the 1999 Canada Winter Games.
