Chance Cove Provincial Park opens for 1998 season

Sandra Kelly, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, announced today that Chance Cove Provincial Park will open for the 1998 season on Friday, April 3.

"This will permit anglers to take advantage of the open season for sea run brown trout in the portion of Chance Cove Brook from its mouth to one kilometer upstream," Minister Kelly said. This park does not offer any designated campsites; however, camping is permitted in its parking area, which has a capacity for 25 camping units. In addition, the park offers access to pit privies and drinking water taps.

Minister Kelly invited everyone to visit and explore this quiet, secluded park. Visitors here can enjoy, in season, good angling in Chance Cove Brook for sea run brown trout. A boat tour, which operates from the park, permits further exploration of the area's sea coast, while bird watchers will not be disappointed.
