1998 NLP/RA Awards Program

The following is being distributed at the request of the Newfoundland and Labrador Parks and Recreation Association:

The Newfoundland and Labrador Parks and Recreation Association has, during the past 26 years, recognized countless achievements and contributions within Newfoundland and Labrador.

And again this year the association is looking for nominations for its various award categories and March 31 is the deadline for submissions.

The Cy Hoskins Memorial Award of Merit is open for nominations of recreation practitioners who have made a significant contribution to the public image of recreation and the profession.

The Pitcher Plant Award goes to an individual and to a group who have made outstanding contributions to recreation as a method to improve community life.

The Bridging the Gap Award is open to volunteers who have improved recreation for individuals with disabilities.

And the Ebert J. Broomfield Memorial Scholarship is a available to post secondary students.
