The following is being distributed at the request of the Labrador Hydro Project, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro:
NOTE TO EDITORS:
The Labrador Hydro Project team would like to advise the public that the restriction on public access currently in place for Muskrat Falls is being extended. Extensions have been required for the testing program due to weather conditions and technical delays. Currently, repairs are being made on the seismic receivers. However, testing is expected to continue on Tuesday, August 18 and conclude on Wednesday, August 19.
Access is being restricted due to a seismic testing program currently being conducted at the site. Restricted access will encompass a one kilometre radius of the falls during the testing program.
