Minister Bettney, SPAN to hold reception for single parent employment program

On Monday, September 28, 12:30 p.m., Julie Bettney, Minister of Human Resources and Employment, together with the Single Parent Association of Newfoundland (SPAN), will hold a reception for participants of the Single Parent Employment Support Program (SESP). The reception will be held at SPAN offices in Virginia Park Plaza, Suite 209, Newfoundland Drive, St. John's.

The Single Parent Employment Support Program helps single parents on income support find and sustain full-time employment, with the goal of becoming financially independent. The first 12 participants of the program graduated on September 3. An additional 20 single parents begin the program September 28.

Members of community organizations, the Premier's Council on Social Policy and participants of the program will also be in attendance. Refreshments will follow.
