NOTE TO EDITORS: Reception to celebrate launch of International Year of Older Persons (IYOP)

NOTE TO EDITORS:

Joan Marie Aylward, Minister of Health and Community Services, and Dr. Ian Rusted, Chair of the Canada Coordinating Committee for the International Year of Older Persons (IYOP), will host a reception for seniors today from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus on St. Clare Avenue. This reception will celebrate the global launch of the IYOP and will include special guests His Honour, Lieutenant Governor A.M. House; John Murphy, Provincial Chair IYOP; and other IYOP committee members. While this reception will celebrate the global launch, this province, like other provinces, will celebrate IYOP from January 1999 - December 1999.
