Public Meetings on Snaring Regulations

To enhance the recovery of the endangered Newfoundland Pine Martin, hunters will be required to use a modified rabbit snaring and furbearing technique in the Terra Nova/Gambo area this year.

Public meetings to explain this new regulation, along with demonstrations on how to set the modified snare and trap, will be held by the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods.

For more information contact Craig Hall at (709) 256-1450.
